The New[Blossfeld]ton

“People where you live,” the little prince said, “grow five thousand roses in one garden… yet they don’t find what they’re looking for”
“They don’t find it,” I answered.
”And yet what they’re looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water…”
”Of course,” I answered.

‘New[Blossfeld]ton’ (2020 – ongoing) is a collage work based on the fashion photographs of Helmut Newton (1920 – 2004) and on the botanical photographs of Karl Blossfeldt (1865 – 1932).

Helmut Newton bought his first camera in Berlin, aged 12. The same year, in the same city, Karl Blossfeldt passed away having enjoyed 63 years as a commoner + 4 years of fame. It is highly unlikely that the two ever met each other. Yet, their art has so much in common. New[Blossfeld]ton draws the parallelisms between the two artists, and reminds us that we are Nature.

New[Blossfeld]ton has been exhibited across Europe. The prints presented here are part of a limited edition of 30 numbered and signed by the artist. For sales inquiries please visit our Artsy page or contact us at hello@isabellalobkowicz.com.
