SEXY SEDIE was a delightful collaboration with the incomparable Guido Scarabottolo and Maurizio Minoggio. For this occasion, I unveiled a new palette and portrayed remarkable individuals who embody their chair spirit.

Within the vibrant atmosphere of Fuorisalone, three unique “exercises in style” explore — with lightness and affection — the images and ideas that shape our collective imagination. Think of it as a Fuorisalone within the Fuorisalone, where design isn’t taken too seriously, yet treated with the utmost care.

Isabella Lobkowicz unveils a collection of chairs inspired by personalities, styles, and quirks from everyday life. Alongside her drawings, she presents prototypes of selected designs, brought to life through an extraordinary photographic set starring “professional actors.

Guido Scarabottolo pairs a small series of drawings — “supposed thrones performing the role of those meant to sit upon them” — with the realisation of a thirty-year-old concept. In this work, the chair is denied entirely, replaced by the unexpected: an improbable shelf… seated.

Maurizio Minoggio transforms his chairs into protagonists of whimsical visual poems — inhabiting a nearby world filled with encounters, visions, and shifting weather. At times candidly humorous, at others quietly moving, his works invite curiosity and delight.

Together, these three voices create vivid scenarios, distinct characters, and distilled impressions of a shared existence — not quite everyday, yet entirely recognisable.
